NSTAR Flight 09-B will be Saturday, July 11th at 7:30am CDT (1230 UTC). This flight will support the UNO Aerospace Education Workshop, which is for middle and high school teachers. The teachers will construct small BalloonSat experiments which will fly along with the regular NSTAR payloads.
APRS will be on 144.36 MHz with callsign N9XTN-11 and 144.39 MHz with callsign N9XTN-12. A simplex repeater is planned for 446.30 MHz with automatic announcements every 3 minutes.
Launch site will be determined a couple of days before the flight. Previous flights have been launched from Waterloo and Gretna in Nebraska, and Glenwood and Treynor in Iowa.
We encourage newcomers to come out and help launch and/or chase. A UHF radio, even a handheld, is about all that is necessary - we use 446.30 as our chase frequency.
Also, this year's Great Plains Super Launch will be July 16-19 in Topeka this year. Flight date is Saturday the 18th. More at http://www.superlaunch.org. NSTAR's website is http://www.nstar.org.
