Hi Charles, I've done a few firmware upgrades and it's never caused a problem. I hate to say it, but you probably have a defective unit. Maybe somebody else

Hi Unazoic, Can you see the menus when you turn on the radio? It probably wouldn't hurt to reinstall the firmware. Check the the bottom of the faq for

1121 radio problem...
have you tried removing the batteries from the radio and mp3, and reinstall them after 20 minutes or so ? have you tried to run the 1121 without the mp3
