Purpose: To provide guidance and support in giving children (mainly 5-9-year-olds) a solid foundation of scientific knowledge, understanding, and thinking skills.
Content: Questions, comments, and discussion regarding any area of science, science curricula, specific lesson plans, methodologies, or assessment are all welcome.
Moderator: Bernard J. Nebel, Ph.D. (Bernie Nebel). I am hosting this group as a free support service to those using my text, "Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding." I welcome your questions. I hope I can be of service.
Source Material: My text, "Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding: A Science Curriculum for K-2" may be viewed at and purchased through my web site: www.pressforlearning.com
While aimed at K-2, the text will be useful in instructing older children who have not gained a significant background in science. A second volume for grades 3-5 is in progress.
