Asa had a special Father/Son bond with his baby boy. Asa was there when
his son came into the world. He was a proud father.
Asa died knowing that "one of a kind" bond with his son. He died
knowing the connection he had made with his child.
Father's Day comes every year. Asa is no longer here with us to
celebrate this important day with his son or with the mother of his son.
He is not here to be with the rest of the family and friends.
We will continue to Honor Asa tomorrow and stand in his place for
Father's Day. It is a hard thing to do.
Asa was a stand up kind of guy. Humor was his daily mainstay. Everyday
he found something to be funny about. He made me happy with his good
humor and innocent pranks.
Asa had come into his time of making his and other people's lives
better. He had grown and changed a lot. He had goals and places and
people to see, things to do to get ahead. Awhile back he was one of the
original members of a Young Father's Group in San Mateo County. Every
step he took made him closer to the man he had become.
Father's Day can bring on memories of our own Fathers; some with us,
some gone. Tomorrow we are blessed to see some of our own family with
their children. For those who can not be with us, we are keeping you
in our hearts.
