This Early Day Motion is an important one, that raises the issue of the
Jewish National Fund and its role in ethnic cleansing and expropriation of
Palestinian homes and land.
For more background and details check out this website of JNF ebooks¹ which
contains many detailed investigative articles , including one I wrote in
Volume 1, called Exclusive Plans¹ on the JNF¹s role in Israeli architecture
and building.

Early day motion 1677
JEWISH NATIONAL FUND
Main content
* Session: 2010-11
* Date tabled: 30.03.2011
* Primary sponsor: Corbyn, Jeremy
*
³That this House welcomes the Stop the Jewish National Fund (JNF) Campaign
launched on 30 March 2011 by the Palestinian Boycott National Committee, the
International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, Scottish Palestine Solidarity
Campaign and others to inform the public about the JNF - Karen Kayemet
L'Yisrael, its ongoing illegal expropriation of Palestinian land, concealing
of destroyed Palestinian villages beneath parks and forests, and prevention
of refugees from returning to their homes; notes that the JNF's constitution
is explicitly discriminatory by stating that land and property will never be
rented, leased or sold to non-Jews; further notes that the UN rejected the
JNF USA's application for consultative status with the Economic and Social
Council on the ground that it violates the principles of the UN Charter on
Human Rights; regrets that the Prime Minister is a JNF honorary patron; and
believes that there is just cause to consider revocation of the JNF's
charitable status in the UK.²

The Rt Hon _______________ MP
House of Commons
London SW1A 0AA
____ April 2011
Dear _______________
Re Early Day Motion 1677 The Jewish National Fund
On 30 March 2011 the Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn, along with five other of your
colleagues, tabled the above EDM in an effort to:
- draw attention to the racially discriminatory nature of the JNF¹s
constitution and policies;
- highlight the JNF¹s role in the ongoing displacement,
dispossession and disenfranchisement of Palestinians;
- question the appropriateness of the Prime Minister¹s decision to
be an honorary patron of the JNF;
- question the appropriateness of the JNF¹s charitable status in
the UK.
Particularly noteworthy in relation to this EDM is the fact that the JNF is
active not only within the State of Israel, but also in the Occupied
Palestinian Territories. The JNF¹s Canada Park, for example, covers the
remains of three West Bank villages which the Israeli army depopulated and
razed in the course of the 1967 war. Moreover, through its subsidiary
Himanuta, the JNF acquires lands and houses in the occupied West Bank and
illegally annexed East Jerusalem. Such acquisitions constitute a violation
of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which forbids an occupying power from
expropriating the property of indigenous inhabitants for the purposes of
settling its own citizens. Even more importantly, they have the cumulative
effect of rendering impossible the two-state solution that remains the
avowed goal of UK foreign policy in the Middle East. Thus by being an
honorary patron of the JNF, Prime Minister David Cameron is endorsing not
only an inherently racist organization, but also one that is undermining the
very solution his own government advocates. Surely this is an issue that is
crying out for some parliamentary scrutiny.
As your constituent, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to support
EDM 1677.
Yours sincerely,
