Several members have asked me to include general aviation information on this
eGroups site, and not limit the site to ultralight and experimental aircraft.
Therefore, future postings will include all relevant aviation material,
including the web sites to various sources of aviation information.
To contact me personally please e-mail me at JonThornburgh@... or
call my voice mail at 800-971-8710.
Thanks for visiting this site.

For those of you who are interested in the new glider-trike licensing
procedure and pilot certification, please see the messages at

There are three national organizations which represent powered
ultralights. They are Aero Sports Connection (ASC), the Experimental
Aircraft Association (EAA), and the United States Ultralight
Association (USUA.)
Their web sites are:
ASC: http://www.aerosports.org
EAA: http://www.eaa.org
USUA: http://www.usua.com
Welcome, and thank you for visiting this site. The purpose of this
site is to post copies of magazine articles that I have written and
other information regarding ultralight flying and experimental
aircraft.
The aviation magazines in which my articles have appeared are Aero
Connections, Aero-News Network, UltraFlight, and Ultralight Flying!
I will endeavor to archive future articles at this site.
You may view previous articles at another site:
www.cyberskies.com/ultralight. All of the articles on Cyberskies may
be downloaded, if desired. The titles of the articles at Cyberskies
which I feel are the most significant are:
*The Differences Between Ultralights and General Aviation Airplanes
*How to Find the Right Ultralight Instructor
*How to Find a Good Ultralight Manufacturer
*Trike Pilot Makes Aviation History
*What's an Ultralight
*Liability and Asset Protection for Aviators and Manufacturers
An excellent source for daily aviation news is Aero-News Network (ANN)
at www.aero-news.net. When you log onto the site the "articles of
the day" will appear. You may see previous articles in ANN by
clicking on the link which says "Previous ANN News Briefs" at the top
of the home page. A calendar of months will appear: from there you
can select the day of the month that you are interested in.
Two of my news briefs have appeared in ANN. One may be found on April
6, 2000, and is titled: "First-Ever Pilot Flight Check In a Primary
Category Quicksilver GT-500."
The other news brief is dated August 23, 2000, and is titled: "New
Category: Glider Trike."
There is an excellent eGroups site for those who are interested in
the new aircraft certification and pilot license available to fly a
glider trike. The site is: www.egroups.com/group/ExpTrikes.
In future posting I will list important aviation web sites and links.
If you would like to send me e-mail, my address is:
