Joindu was a Jain philosopher and mystic of the 6th century CE who
wrote in the then prevalent Apabhramsha. In Parmatma Prakash,
Acarya Joindu explains how lasting peace and happiness can be
attained. He adumbrates how one may attain the highest stage of
spiritual development through conquering one's weaknesses. He
criticises empty rituals, meaningless customs and traditions. He
emphasises the path of Spiritual Enlightenment which lies in the
rigorous pursuit of Ratnatraya, not in Tantra, Mantra or Mandala.
The English translation and commentary do full justice to the text.

This work is also known as the Caturvimshati-Jina-stotra. Its
composer Acarya Samantabhadra lived in the 2nd century CE.
He was a versatile genius and the progenitor of Jain Nyaya
(Jain Logic). His Aptamimamsa was the first systematic
exposition on Jain Nyaya.
The Svayambhustotra is an elegantly composed exposition on
Samyak Darshana, Samyak Jñana and Samyak Caritra.
The author skilfully expounds the fundamentals of Jainism,
Ahimsa, Aparigraha, Anekanta and Syadvada. He explains
the rationale behind Bhakti, the primary importance of
compassion and highlights the virtues of self-restraint,
renunciation and meditation and contemplation on the soul.
Samantabhadra's mastery of Sanskrit poetics is evident in this
beautiful work where 13 different Chandas have been used.
The English prose translation is very good. Unfortunately, no
poetic English translation of this beautiful work has been
attempted so far.

the founder of the Jain tradition of Yoganubhuti. He is best
known for his classic commentary on the 'Tattvarthasutra',
known as 'Sarvarthasiddhi'. Pujyapada was one of the great
Sanskrit grammarians of ancient India. His "Jainendra
Vyakarana" is a benchmark work on Sanskrit grammar.
Acarya Mahaprajña, current head of the Terapanthi sect,
has written the following in praise of Acarya Pujyapada.
'"'Samadhitantra' of Pujyapada (4th - 5th century C.E.) is an
inexhaustible source of spiritual experiences. In 'Ishtopadesha'
Acarya Pujyapada has delved deeply into spiritualism. A
reader cannot but be deeply touched by his spiritual insights.
Pujyapada is the fountainhead of the tradition of Yoganubhuti,
i.e. self-contemplation and realization".
