Vedic Astrology Course in
Upadesa Sutra of Maharishi Jaimini
as taught in the tradition of Jagannath Puri
Pandit Sanjay Rath is teaching 26 scholars who in turn are forming small groups to pass on these teachings in an intensive fashion. This group will be led by Sat Siri Khalsa.
The real and deep secrets of Maharishi Jaimini's Upadesha Sutras are now open to study here. The Sutras explain how and why to apply many of the techniques found in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS). For hundreds of years, even Indian astrologers have been wondering what Parashara and Jaimini meant. Such was the confusion that many thought Jaimini had created his own tradition separate from Parashara's. But the word 'Upadesha' ('Instructions from the master') tells us that the sutras are the teaching of Jaimini's guru, thus coming down from Parashara. Maharishi Jaimini has explained many of the teachings of BPHS, revealing even more of the genius of Parashara.
These cosmic secrets are being shared by the kindness of the Rishis through the efforts of Pandit Rath, descendant of the Brahman families of Orissa who have held the gems of the tradition safe. The course includes four years of lessons, delving deep into Jyotish principles and Vedic remedies for all situations. This course is for those open to spiritual practices and Vedic mantras.
This in no way diminishes the relationship of anyone with their own spiritual path or Guru who has given spiritual initiation. Jyotish is a Vedanga, a limb and vital part of Vedic studies, that encourages the broadest understanding of all religious traditions and paths. Interacting with the Vedas strengthens the pursuit of each person's own inner growth.
Each year relates to one of the Vedas and is taught as a separate module. Participants can obtain certification from the Devaguru Brihaspati Centre for each year completed.
