justin needs help This Sun. (Mother's Day)
3 p.m. is our 90-minute, professional opera/piano/harp concert at Bay Shore Church in Belmont Shore.  I'm in need of approx. 10-15 top-notch volunteers to hand out the tickets, usher and host the post-event reception. Any chance you and/or friends could help?  If so, I can use six volunteers to help at the will-call tables from 1:45-3 p.m.; eight volunteers for ushering from 2 - 3:15 p.m.; and four reception helpers from 4:15-5:30 p.m.  I can also use plates of cookies/brownies/bags of ice for the reception that follows the concert.  Refreshments can be left at the church fellowship hall on event day, starting at 1:30.  I can also use help spreading the word to others who might be able to help or attend.  Dress is upscale casual or dressy.  No shorts.  I can provide free tickets (up to four per person) to anyone (volunteers or otherwise) who RSVPs to me, if they want to sit and just enjoy the event.  It's general admission, but RSVPs are required.  I expect a full house, and the venue seats 450.  Event details here:

According to 2004 figures from the Census Bureau, there were some 32 million disabled adults (aged 18 or over) in the United States, plus another 5 million children and youth (under age 18). If one were to add impairments - or limitations that fall short of being disabilities - Census estimates put the figure at 51 million.

According to the National Survey of Family Growth, 4.1% of Americans aged 18-45 identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual[44] (Other estimates have varied depending on methodology and timing; see Demographics of sexual orientation for a list of studies.) The American Community Survey from the U.S. Census estimated 776,943 same-sex couples in the country as a whole, representing about 0.5% of the population.[44] GLB populations are concentrated in urban areas. Shown in the chart on the right are the top 10 U.S. metropolitan areas with the highest GLB population in terms of percent of gay, lesbian and bisexual residents, compared to the rest of the population.
