Hi Randy,

How are you? We miss you lots here at the AJA. How's your job and Fran's?

We're gearing up for our annual Groundhog Festival. Could you please send
us a list of the media contacts and last year's press release? It would
help us a lot. Toni has said she'd be in charge of publicity this year
since you're out of town now.

Thanks so much and come see us again!

Joyce

FOR JUGGLERS:

Hi Guys,
Tell whomever is collecting the money I said you all get in free (you can donate
$2-5 for the snack table if you can)..

I have found most dancing is juggle-like, so if you like juggling you will
probably like tango..

bobbler

NOTES FOR THIS MONTH: DEC, 12

LOCATION CHANGE FOR DECEMBER: Pera studio.

http://www.peradance.com/directions.asp
http://www.tangoevolution.com/main.cfm?id=2609

I heard there may be some blues dancers this month (minus one who will be in
India)..

If you are a swing dancer, ask the DJ to play a swing song..
If you are a blues dancer, ask the DJ to play a blues set..
If you dance salsa.. .. ..

This is basically a tango night, and 75-95 percent of the music will be tango
danceable.. But friendly to swing, blues and salsa (so if you need to do one
swing, etc dance let me know).. Most tango dancers also dance other dances (so
everyone "should" be happy)..

Actually, better to ask for me (bobbler) so I know you guys are there.. I may be
at GA TECH friday (if anyone remembers what I look like)..

(bobbler)

WHATS GOING ON:
Oasis Tango, Trying to be a blango.. This is basically a blues friendly tango
night (1 or 2 sets of blues music bt 9-10PM).. And, this is an alternative music
tango night, and since blues and tango can be danced to the same music, some of
the alternative tangos may work for blues as well.. I think several of us are on
the same wavelength, thinking it would be cool to have a mixed dance night
(tango / blues, and maybe a salsa set too), because many of us do all these
dances.. I got back from Chicago (my home town) last August, and found
mango-tango combining tango & blues (so we are not the only ones)..

TANGO CLASS 7PM :

There will be two classes running simultaneously (BEG & INT)..
Most of you should probably do the BEG tango class, but you should expect to
progress more quickly to the INT level because of blues experience.. More
advanced blues dancers may be able to jump right into the INT class (esp. if you
are solid with the grapevine).. Several things translate from blues to tango, so
you are already part tango dancer. 8-9PM is a practica; find me and ask
questions..

MUSIC:

8 PM: "mostly" Traditional tango 8-9 PM in the main room..
9 PM: Nuevo / Alternative tango 9-10:15PM in the main room (incl 1 or 2 blues
sets).

If anyone wants to:
8-10 PM : you can bring your own music and use the other room (no other room for
Dec, 12)..

DIRECTIONS (map) TO OASIS TANGO:
http://www.tangooasis.com

YERBE MATE:

We are long time tea drinkers and mate is about 2/3 similar to green tea (196
volatile (or active) chemical compounds found in the yerba mate plant – of
which 144 are also found in green tea). It is less likely to "wire" you than tea
or coffee. We use our knowledge of tea, to brew the mate is a manner similar to
the traditional method. We are brewing the rosamonte selection especial brand of
Yerbe mate (one of the best IMHO).. Hot water is also available if you want to
bring your own..

After the weather shut off my unicycling at workee, I've been
experimenting with running cigar boxes in the hallway. The best props
for this are things called "Yoga Blocks", which are dense foam blocks
used by yoga practitioners to tune their postures. Be sure to get the
"3-inch" kind, not the wider ones. With these, I can run cigar box
tricks quietly and in very little space. I also can work with these
over tile or concrete without fear of having 'em break up over time,
unlike the plywood props. Twenty or thirty minutes of full-speed
tricks counts as a pretty good workout by the soaked-shirt metric.

My old set is severely dog-chewed, but I just got 3 new ones from
amazon (
http://www.amazon.com/High-Quality-Yoga-Block-Purple/dp/B001AW7D66/ref=sr_1_9?ie\
=UTF8&qid=1291929648&sr=8-9
) for, like, $10 each after shipping. Alas, they're all exactly the
same plain color on all sides. Frankey is suggesting that sharpies
would work for decorating 'em. Has anyone else got experience with
this?

Charles,

I'd suggest Mylar and attach it with double-sided carpet tape. The tape would
hold it on well, but not so well that it couldn't be taken off and replaced with
new Mylar. Sharpies would look rather dull, compared to Mylar.

Just thought I would let everyone know at once.

I will be flying in Thursday night. My flight gets in about 7:30pm so I
should at the meeting late or early for beer. Unfortunately I learned of
the DVO farewell concert the day after we bought the tickets, so I will
be flying out on Monday about the time the show starts.

Due to money and upcoming medical issues my lovely wife, LJ, will not be
coming with me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there,

To Whom It May Concern,

Leftfield Pictures is producing a new TV show that needs family performers!
The show will air this spring and we would like to devote an entire episode
to parents who are worried about their children’s spouses. There might be
differences in lifestyle, or the way that they run their households.
Whatever the issue, the show will bring in an expert to help families work
through their differences and become closer. It is a very positive show
aimed at helping families break through their barriers. Below is more
information about the show. Please forward it to any family performers that
you think might be interested.

Thank you very much for your time.

Hello Atlanta Jugglers,

Greetings from Yoyosam! I have come across your club and I am emailing you
to see if you would be interested in joining our new YoYoSam Club Program.
We sell an awesome array of skill toys like yo-yos, diabolos, and juggling
equipment.

How the club program works is simple, we give you a 10% discount code to
YoYoSam.com that you and your club members can use as many times as you
would like. Each time someone uses this code you will earn 10% more store
credit for your club. That way if multiple people in your club use the code
then you can accumulate store-credit very quickly. One club member has
already earned over $500 in free merchandise. Another club member earned
$140 in the first week! This credit can be used however you want, we find
that some people like to buy beginner gear for potential new club members,
but it is up to you how best to use it. We will keep track of how much your
code is used and post the store credit to your account periodically. Your
club's personal promotional checkout code is: AT-jg11
This code is fully functioning as of today. (the code cannot be used in
conjunction with any other dicount codes or promotions)

You are free to distribute this code and post in forums or other appropriate
venues. We do ask, however, that you do not post this discount code on mass
coupon sites. Also, if you would like to keep YoYoSam up to date with any of
your club activities, we would love to hear about it. Our hope is that we
can build a database of so many of the great skill toy clubs all around the
world! Please feel free to email me back with any questions or comments on
this new program. Thanks so much!

I've done that, too! 50% of everyone that has seen the flyer, is definitely
going to be there! Ready is going to be a No-Show.

Who is in charge of the fire and light show for the festival next weekend?

Here are some good safety suggestions from Justin on Facebook:
Justin Majors <http://www.facebook.com/justmajors>
Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to the fire show. However, I
urge you to use proper fire safety precautions during fire jam. In previous
years it has been very unsafe with many performers performing at once with
no safeties. I... recommend having dedicated fire safeties watching the
performers with duvetyne blankets and have a proper fire extinguisher
available. Also jugglers/spinners should close their fuel cans when not
using them. Fuel should not be near where performers are performing (on an
opposite side of a wall is best).

I've traditional be the one, since it was my idea to do it, so I'll be glad to
be there again. A fire extinguisher isn't a bad idea, plus a gallon of water to
pour on any burning skin. (Only semi-kidding.) If someone supplies the fire
extinguisher, I'll bring a gallon of water and a first-aid kit.

Judy is pressuring me to arrange a TV set at Panahar so that folks who
wish to follow the superbowl may be able to see some of it. I have no
cargo space, time, or interest for moving Judy's TV from our home.
Does anyone else have a small television they could arrange to bring
to the post-Groundhog dinner at Panahar? I think we can find a place
to plug it in. I will ensure that the sound is off.
