The JRForum was started in 1998 to provide a friendly meeting place for enthusiasts from around the world to discuss their interest in Japanese model trains. While posts are not individually moderated, members are expected to behave in a mature manner and tolerate others' differences of opinions. Similarly, posts of a purely commercial nature are not allowed in this group.

What is on-topic for the group?
- Basically anything that concerns modelling Japanese trains and creating layouts based on Japanese prototypes, including discussions of prototypical operations where relevant. Most discussion is likely to focus on N gauge, as this is by far the most popular scale in Japan. However, discussions or questions concerning other scales and gauges are equally welcome. Likewise, there is no particular bias towards or against steam, diesel, electric, modern or old. In short, if it is Japanese, it is on-topic and welcome!
