Springfield City Council Looks at Repealing Same-Sex Law   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1283 of 1343 |
The City of Springfield Missouri has a city ordinance that reads,

"It shall be unlawful for any person in a public place to invite,
entice, persuade or to address a person of the same sex for the purpose
of inviting, enticing or persuading such person to commit sodomy."

Does this mean that if you go to a bar and pick up someone of the same
sex it is unlawful, but if you pick up someone of the opposite sex it is
OK? Fortunately, the Springfield City Council is looking at repealing
this discriminatory law. You can read the full story here:

The newspaper article suggested there is a similar law in St. Louis.
I'm surprised it was not repealed a long time ago.
