Hypothesis: Beyond common 'European' linguistic heritage imposed upon 'Mediterranean' substratum, Indo-Greek parallels suggest direct prolonged cultural contacts, even some shared ethnicity. Archeological correspondences between proto-Vedic Bactrian (c.2200-1600 BC) and Mycenaean civilizations (c.1600-1200 BC) along with evidence of Indo-Aryan incursions throughout Near-East (esp. Hyksos), suggest foundation of Greek culture was blend of dominant Bactrian (Ionian?) with Egyptian, Semitic and indigenous elements. Following period of de-urbanization (Dorians), earlier mythico-ritual motifs resurface transformed in classical Greece (700 BC). After Alexander's invasion of NW India, 'Buddhist' Bactria (c.320-50 BC) radiated Greek culture across central Asia and into India (Menander).

Bactrian urban culture reveals elements of (pre-) Rig-Vedic religion later brought by pastoral Aryans into Punjab. However, Asuric pre-history (Mitra-Varuna, Rta) of Vedic tradition might have derived from Bactrian absorption of determining influences and elites from declining (Mespotamian, Elam and) Indus-Sarasvatî (2600-1800 BC) mercantile civilization(s. Near-Eastern Aryans may have carried Indian cultural elements (Ouranos) into Mycenaean Greece.

Modern European ideological appropriation of Greek 'miracle' as radical negation of Orient is already severely undermined by formative Egyptian and Semitic influences unearthed by Bernal's Black Athena. We complement these efforts by documenting, analyzing and interpreting specifically Indian and Aryan (as opposed to generic 'Indo-European') influences on Greece (and vice-versa) as a bridge between East and West. Historico-cultural template for understanding such commonalities as: charioteering, hunt (dog), weaponry, attire, sacrifice, Dionysus-Bhairava, myth and ritual, burial, self-knowledge, classical theater, logic-based philosophy, epic (Illiad-Mahâbhârata), wrestling, etc.
