"Indian discussion forum" has been created to provide a platform for indian community in Hungary to network and share their cultural heritage.
Welcome to the Indians in Hungary community. What is this community about? Who established this? What this community really does? Well here is a small brief which answers all your questions.
I didn’t realize that a small discussion during lunch would result in such a good initiative. On 3 Jan 2006, a lunch together with Mukul and Vaibhav, we were discussing about a routine question “How many Indians are living in Budapest?” You bet no body knows the correct answer. And even getting to know our fellow Indians is a challenge due to lack of proper discussion forum and communication channel. Creative mind of Mukul recommended why not make a yahoo discussion community for Indians living in Budapest? He encouraged me to take this “action point” and now the result is in front of you.
Basic idea is to share information, news and Indian relevant happenings / events in Budapest. By this way we can spice up our lives in Budapest while staying away from home. To share the common information to make our daily life easier. Many times it was felt that, to find a simple information (e.g. where to find maid, Indian store, Indian movies, TV channels, etc) was very difficult due to Hungarian language barrier. Now we have an excellent opportunity to help each other by sending a simple mail to “IndiansinHungary@yahoogroups.com“ and ask any question and/or just send information.
Currently there are 357 members. Please inform about this community to others. We can also share our experience about living in Hungary. We welcome you all to join this community and share the culture and tradition of India in Hungary. Thanks for all your help.
