The Indiana Buddhist Center has been established to serve as a resource for the people of central Indiana and beyond. The Center shall serve the public by providing and being a local source of accurate information on Buddhism and meditation in general. Furthermore, the Center will serve as a place of common meditation and gathering for Indiana Buddhists and those sympathetic to the Dharma. Additionally, the Center will engage in events that further the understanding of Buddhist philosophy in the form of regular teachings and special events. To this end, the members will work to secure a resident teacher, a library and a retreat center to further accomplish these goals.
Geshe Jinpa Sonam of Drepung Gomang Monastery in Mungood, India has kindly agreed to be our teacher currently. We meet every Sunday morning at 12:30pm to hear Geshe-la espouse the Buddhism of the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.
