St. Gregorios Daya Bhavan was inaugurated by H.G. Yakoob Mar Iraneous
Metropolitan of Madras Diocese on 15th June 2003 at 4.00 PM at a simple
function organized at DayaBhavan.

H.G. has accepted 8 children to Daya Bhavan and handed them over to Rev. Fr.
Jinesh Varky , manager of Daya Bhavan in the meeting presided over by
Very Rev. C.M.Philipose Cor – Episcopa. Very Rev. Yuhanon Remban, Mr.
Dayanand the Village Panchayat Member, Mrs. Laalavathy a Social
Worker, Mrs. Dr. Glory Alex, an Orthodox doctor who work among AIDS patients
and Very Rev. Abrham Marrett Cor–Episcopa felicitated the function. A
large gathering from all the 9 parishes in Bangalore and the Tumkur parish
attended the function. (St. Gregorios Orthodox Church at Tumkur is the
nearest Orthodox Parish to Daya Bhavan). The blessing of the building was
done in the month of January 2003 by H.G. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios,
president of the Mission Board of our Church..

Daya Bhavan is a house for the children of HIV positive parents who are
forced to be seperated from their parents and relatives. The spiritual as
well as physical growth of the children is taken care of at the Bhavan. Rev.
Fr. Jinesh and Brother Joseph are staying with the children .

Only 10 children can be accommodated in the building that is already
constructed. Many more are waiting for admission. Construction of a new
block with a few rooms is the immediate need. It is estimated that each
room will cost about Rs. 75000/-

Very Rev. K.I Philip Remban could not attend the function as he was in
hospital at Hyderabad. He is discharged yesterday and is resting at
Yacharam. He needs our prayers for a speedy recovery of his health.
