Dear Friends,

I am convinced that the most creditable organised missionary work, which can be considered as 'GODLY' in the true sense happening under the leadership of our church is St. Pauls Brotherhood (This doesn't mean that other charity and missionary projects undertaken by other sub -organisations/parishes/individuals of the church are not important).

If our E Group members can contribute in any way (directly or indirectly) for the projects under this mission, I am sure they will be blessed. You can be rest assured that every penny or effort you put in will not go waste and will meet the objective.

I had the oppertunity to meet Very Rev. Philipose Ramban recently in Abu Dhabi,  who leads the work outside Kerala. It is a blessing that we have such devoted people in our church and that is the only ray of hope for our children. If each one of us can support these selfless peoples efforts to make a better world to live, in the next 10yrs people like Osthathiose Thirumeni, Philipose Rambachan, Thomas Rambachan, Yohannan Rambachan(Karunya Centre,TVM) etc will be raised to the stature of  say "Mother Theresa" in the eyes of world.
I also wish if the church ( I mean our local priests should take the lead) can channelise the energies of our friends like Alexander Pollayil & Sujith (both are true 'geniouses' with their shear hard work, credit goes to the E-Group for inventing them for the church) for these causes.

I understand lack of resourses (money and committed volunteers) are the main problem faced by these projects and lot of time is wasted by these dedicated  leaders to raise resourses by travelling to various places, meeting people etc, diverting their attn from the real work.
If any of our friends can volunteer to establish a system through which these projects can receive donations etc through Internet(credit cards) it will be a great service and will go a long way to meet the set objectives. In fact what I personally feel is that one of the thrust areas for the next five years for the church should be to exploit the "IT Revolution" to the maximum for doing GOD's work. We should appreciate that this is the only revolution (unlike Industrial revolution) where we (India) are also at par with the developed world. You will note that there is no E Mail link attached to the web page of the Mission also i.e(http://www.providenceusa.com/balagram/ruraleye1.htm) That means we have a lot to do from now onwards. Let us all contribute the positive energies of all our church members for "GOD's work" through our church, instead of only debating and scoring some points.

With Best Wishes for a Merry X' Mas & Happy New Year to all our friends and their families.

ST.PAUL'S BROTHERHOOD

ST.PAUL'S BROTHERHOOD of Orthodox Church of India is a resultant of the prayers, sacrifices, vision and dynamism of a young man who dared to dream, strove through prayers and attained Heavenly blessings and guidance. He was Ezhakadavil Georgekutty. He rallied a band of young men around him and spoke of preaching the message of love to whom it mattered most, the suppressed, oppressed and depressed. This small band of young men formed the core of St. Paul's Brotherhood.

In 1975, after a quarter century of illustrious priesthood Georgekutty was consecrated as Geevarghese Mar Osthathios Metropolitan. St.Paul's Brotherhood under the guidance of His Grace is involved in projects in the states of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa. The two stalwarts of the Brotherhood are Very Rev.Thomas Ramban who is the moving spirit behind the work at Puthupadi and Very Rev.Philipose Ramban who spearheaded the work of the Brotherhood outside Kerala by taking the initiative to start the Balagram at Yacharam. For his dedicated work Very Rev.Philipose Ramban was honoured with the Catholicate Award .

The focus of the Brotherhood is on children. The cardinal message is the same as it was 2000 years ago: "Love thy neighbour as thyself".
