Tired of Planning it all Yourself?! Looking for a Language Arts program to complement The Mystery of History Vol 1? Wish it could be Bible-based, PRACTICAL, AFFORDABLE, and FUN? Well, you've found it! "Illuminations - Lighting Your Path Toward Excellence" is here in beta form.

This group is here for homeschoolers who are interested in taking part in this Beta test year for Bright Ideas Press' new 3rd - 8th grade curriculum based on their history series: The Mystery of History (and eventually All American History as well).

This first year will focus primarily on Language Arts, including Family Literature Activity Guides, Read Aloud and Read Alone discussions, hands-on, vocabulary, etc. We are also providing spelling lessons written by Kathryn Stout author of The Natural Speller. Vocabulary through our literature picks as well as optional English From The Roots Up book. Writing lessons through your choice of The WriteShop program or Foundations to Writing - both multi-year, multi-grade with lesson plans tweaked especially for The Mystery of History! Last but not least you will find copywork and/or dictation as well a Bible reading schedule. Grammar options include a homeschool version of The Grammar Punk or scheduled lessons from Winston Grammar.

Parents of early learners (K-2) will enjoy the bonus "Read Aloud and Discuss" schedules!

Joining this group means that ANY AND ALL IDEAS YOU SHARE HERE may be used by Maggie Hogan and/or Bright Ideas Press in the further development of Illuminations without specific permission from the group member to do so. (Although, of course, we'll try! But sometimes so many ideas get shared it is very hard to tell from whom they originated.)
