This is a list for Latter-day Saints in Idaho for discussion of methods, resources, etc. for educating their children in the home. The goal is to educate our children in the way best suited to our own situations, whether it is a combination of public school and afterschooling, dual enrollment, independent homeschooling or using the resources of the Idaho Virtual Academy. All discussion must relate to specifically homeschooling issues. In other words, discussion of legislation which addresses homeschooling issues is allowed; discussion of legislation regarding other issues which are not directly related to homeschooling, but which some may feel will indirectly affect other rights of homeschoolers, is not allowed. Any other political discussion is not appropriate for this list. Likewise, this list is not for child rearing issues (other than as they may relate to behavior during schooling settings), breastfeeding, homebirthing, gun control, the assumed interpretation of the founding fathers' intentions, Constitutional Rights, etc. There are many other forums for discussing those topics. Members of all faiths are welcome to join the list; however, the religious perspective and discussion will be solely from the LDS perspective and such discussion will be only as it pertains to the implementation of religious studies in the home school situation or of resources available for such study. You are asked to extend every courtesy to other list members. Flaming or criticizing other's opinions is not courteous. New members will automatically be moderated until after their first post. Members of the list who violate the list rules will receive one warning and will be placed on a temporary moderated status. Continued violation will cause the member to be unsubscribed. Membership will be upon the approval of the moderator.
