I am a 68 year old male living on a very small SS check. I live alone in NE USA. I do not have any friends now. My last friend died six years back. In my remaining years I want a least one true friend and a degree of financial security. I am not mercenary; financial security buys essential choices. One example: A car gives the option of diving to a store for food. I remember last winter, when I needed food, I'd go out in the cold to ride a bus to the store which is miles away. On the way back I'd sometimes would miss the bus and have to wait an hour or more in the freezing cold, Things like that happens when one goes not have a car.
