Description
The media seems to be carrying this message about dumping B.Tech degrees and turning the IIT's into research centres, as well as Re-naming about seventeen other Regional Engineering Colleges as IIT's aswell.We are not sure at this stage as to what is true and what is fiction.We are here to collect official information, discuss the issues, formulate plan and take collective action to stop this MADNESS.
This group is open to all IIT Alumni who are pasionate about Saving the IIT's as they are, for generations to come.
- Is it off loading B.tech. prog. to Regional colleges
- is it giving the name IIT to 17 or 20 or Regional Engg Colleges
- is it that Govt. wants to appoint Directors etc. by its own procedure
and control IITs and take away the autonomy.
We do not know as yet but we are about to find out and do what has to be done to BLOCK the effort.
The latest ofcourse is PM's announcement that he endorses five more IIT's in India.
