I am searching for HOWELL OWENS. He was probably born in GA. I have been looking for years and have found two Howell Owens - They may be the same man.

1 - HOWELL L. OWENS was born in GA ca. 1830 and married to Harriett (SAUDERLINE or SOUTHERLAND). HOWELL L. and Harriett had three children: Jacob Marion OWENS b. 13 Dec. 1857 in NC, Telina C. OWENS (male) b. ca. 1864 and James W. OWENS b. ca. 1867. NOTE: See genealogy report in the "Files" section on the left of this screen.

2- HOWELL OWENS was born in Forsyth Co. Ga. (no date) and married Margaret GARRETT. They had Cynthia Caroline OWENS b. 5 May 1880. She married James B. GODFREY.

... Hi Rick I know of a Reuben Owens from Edgecombe Co. NC moved to Greeneville district in the early 1820. He had a son Howell that fought in the Civil War.

Howell Owens DNA Match
I had Howell's gr. grandson submit to a Family Tree DNA test. It came back with one exact, 37 marker match. This means probable kinship within the past 5 - 7
