I'm Chet Machen. a very active Viet Am community supporter who has been working with the local Houston Vietnamese & other Asian communities for years.

I'm very proud to have been Vice President of the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce of Houston, Vice Chair of the City of Houston Alief SuperNeighborhood Council, Membership Committee member of the Asian American Business Council, Media Chair of the Board of Advisors of Boat People SOS - Houston, Board Member of Houston Asian 80-20 PAC, Member of Texas Asian Republican Caucus, & member Asian Chamber of Commerce.

I've also worked with the Vietnamese American National Gala, SaiGon Tex News, State Rep Hubert Vo, HarrisVotes! Vietnamese Advisory Committee, local Viet Student Associations and many others in this community on various projects.

I've noted a consistant gap in the information infrastructure of the local Vietnamese community thats available in English.

So I've developed a network of contacts in the local Houston Vietnamese community to disseminate news about upcoming events and opportunities for those interested in the Houston Vietnamese culture. I forward news of available student scholarships, internships, job opportunities, charitable events, concerts, festivals, dining, and other issues affecting the Houston area Viet community.
