At Tuesday's AGM we had a bit of a review about all the things the
local group had achieved in 2007. For a group that isn't currently
meeting, an enormous amount of Friends of the Earth campaigning
happened in the borough.
We had stalls at 3 separate festivals:
Bedfont Lakes
Osterley Park
Brentford Festival (Boston Manor)
We held Big Ask street campaigning events in:
Feltham, with Ealing Friends of the Earth
Feltham (again), with Richmond Friends of the Earth
Feltham (yet again), with the folk from Underwood Street
We had a stall at the showing of `An Inconvenient Truth' with Ann
Keen MP, at the holiday inn in Brentford. And to advertise it we had
a street campaigning event in Feltham (again)
We organised a showing of `An Inconvenient Truth' with Alan Keen MP
and Roger Higman (Friends of the Earth)
And behind the scenes we worked with the Hounslow biodiversity action
plan, and fed into numerous planning enquiries and consultations
about the regeneration of Brentford.
We took part in a West London Day of Action on aviation, polling
people in Hounslow about what they really thought of Heathrow.
And some of us took part in Climate Camp.
Not to mention all the work we did under the banner of other local
groups such as BRAG.
All in all a very busy year, so what next?
