This is a discussion/study group for the practice of Hoodoo also referred to as Rootwork or Conjure, and other systems of American Folk Magic. Other topics of discussion may include Christianity, Louisiana Voodoo, Haitian Vodou, Lucumi/Santeria, Palo, Obeah, Brujeria, Curandismo, European witchcraft, folklore, herbal medicine, magical philosophy, etc.

Hoodoo is not a form of Neo-Pagan religion or Neo-Pagan magic and does not embrace concepts such as "harm none", "Three-fold Return", or asking permission before working magic on a person. Please respect others and do not pass judgment on any individual. If a topic of discussion is uncomfortable to you use your delete key.

Please also be aware that Hoodoo is a magical tradition deeply connected with Christianity, and members of this group come from a variety faith backgrounds. Please be respectful when speaking of a faith that is different than your own. We are all adults making our own spiritual choices. We encourage our members to hold to their own religion and beliefs while providing a setting to discuss magical philosophy and technique.

Although based in Texas students from anywhere are welcome to join. Our main objective is to provide an environment conducive to the discussion of Hoodoo and other forms of American Folk Magic.
