With the recent and ongoing Baby Boom in Hollywood, several parents recently began meeting to discuss sending their children to our local public elementary school. Our goal is to enroll the student population within the boundaries of Cheremoya into the school beginning with Kindergarden 2006. Cheremoya Elementary, an Arts Prototype School, is a lovely school that stands on Franklin Avenue at Beachwood Drive. Its doors first opened in 1915. By the time some of our children are in the 6th grade class we will be celebrating the school's Centennial. When we started looking into Cheremoya we found that there are many new and exciting things happening there. We were very pleased to find out that a well-respected new principal, Armineh Alexan, will begin at Cheremoya this fall. She will be joining a staff of wonderful teachers. We understand that over the last few years test scores have gone up 200%. Additionally, the school will return to a single-track schedule this fall reflecting a traditional school year. The key to any great school is a combination of dedicated teachers and involved parents. To be involved please join our Yahoo Group. You will receive emails regarding updates and invitations to upcoming events and much more. We look forward to your involvment during these exciting times.
