Historical Novelists Center welcomes you to an open email list for writers of all forms of historical fiction: straight, romance, fantasy, adventure, alternative, and whatever variant you can imagine. This is not meant as a mss swapping list, but designed so we can gang up on our other problems, from writing to finding period information to getting a foot in at the publishers. Traffic will vary with the membership.
We assume everyone joining is a well-mannered adult, who can conduct a discussion in terms that will not distress the less rowdy members. If you must, please put as the first line of your post something like STRONG SEXUAL CONTENT or OBSCENITIES BELOW. No flames, no personalities, no politics, no coarse language, please. We do not have time to ride herd on problems. Our response is simple: banishment.
Anyone who posts parts of their work here does so at their own risk. However, known plagiarists will be banned and injured authors who sue them will be applauded. We ask that members not distribute copies of messages to anyone off the list without the author's permission.
No vanity publishers, "showcase sites," and other schemes destructive of an author's copyrights, please. We will not only ban you, but complain to Yahoo! about your abuse of the lists.
