New teak is almost impossible to get varnish to stick to, because of the oils in it. Older teak will hold varnish pretty well. All clear coatings are

I was always under the impression you oiled teakwood rather than use a varnish or a clear coat. I'm thinking I used linseed oil or something like that. Am I
