Greetings on this auspicious day of Ram Navmi!

On this day, I am proud to present to you a a bief description of
a book on the life of Lord Rama's most devout servant, the brave
Hanuman.

PAVANAPUTRA (Hindi)
Novelised biography of Hanuman in Hindi
By Dr. Bhagavatisharan Mishra
2004 220 x 145 mm 360 pp
81 7028 009 5 Hardcover Rs. 200

Pavanaputra is a novelised biography of Vir Hanuman, revered
for his exemplary devotion to Lord Rama. It has been written
by Dr. Bhagavatisharan Mishra, a leading Hindi novelist
specialising in historical novels.

The character of Vir Hanuman is one of India's best loved
mythological figures. He was a servant of Lord Rama. His
devotion to his master is legendary. Upon being asked to show
his devotion to Rama and Sita, he split open his chest and there
one could see the images of Rama and Sita in there.

This novel attempts to present all facets of Hanuman's life to the
reader. Hanuman's hagiographies are found in every Ramayana.
The author has tried to collate the data presented there, and
brings it together in a beautifully crafted novel.

All the events that led to Pavana and Anjana's son Hanuman join
forces with Rama, the adventures of Hanuman in the service of
Rama, are all recounted fondly. The unique quality of Hanuman,
his complete and utter devotion to his master and his honesty are
highlighted. Hanuman's many deeds of strength and bravery, like
carrying the entire mountain when asked to look for a medicinal
plant found on it, his arson of Lanka, etc. retold skilfully.

Exceptionally well written, a must-read for every discerning reader.
