A support group for Northern Virginia homeschoolers who identify with the heathen label. We are pagans, atheists, agnostics, Unitarian Universalists, secularists, and humanists, as well as those recovering from and or/questioning our faiths -- some of us defy labels altogether. Frequently off-topic, off-color and very chatty. This is NOT an inclusive list nor one for people who want just a 'secular experience.' This is for those of us who very much feel 'other.' Members required to have a sense of humor.

This group exists to provide support for homeschoolers who sometimes find it challenging, difficult or frustrating to be non-religious or religiously "different" within a broader homeschooling community sometimes viewed by insiders and outsiders alike as religiously homogeneous. We aim to be a supportive atmosphere, though by no means do we always agree on everything. Members are requested to participate and not "lurk."

When requesting membership, you MUST include a sentence or two explaining your homeschooling status and why you consider yourself a heathen. Only homeschoolers and heathens are accepted.

Regretfully, your application will be denied if you do not comply with this requirement. The membership of this group feels strongly that we do not want to be spied upon, spammed, or proselytized at --yes, I'm sure you wouldn't, but it has happened too many times for us to Accept members without some sort of screening.
