We are a group of residents of Cambridge, Mass. who are concerned about increasing noise and air pollution in our area. We are kept awake at night by the rumbling of ventilation equipment, constant truck noise, drag-racing motorcycles, the thundering of jets and the pounding of helicopters.

During the day our peace is disturbed by many more noises: leaf blowers (used even where totally unnecessary, on tiny lawns), advertising planes, excessive use of sirens by police and fire personnel, etc.

The air we breath is so dirty that if you leave your window open for a day you'll have to wipe a thick grimy film off everything.

We are uniting to maintain a healthy environment in this city which we love, a city which is a crossroads for the whole country in many ways. We hope that Cambridge can once again present a positive example of the healthy coexistence of industry and transportation with residential communities and cultural institutions.
