HOOT OWLs & SWAMPED

HOOT OWL stands for Husbands Out Of Town Or Working Late. Our group recognizes that it can be hard on you when your husband works late or is out of town, so we get together in the day, evening and/or weekends with our kids.

Due to the evening and weekend meetups, single working mothers are welcome to join as well.. We recently added the acronym SWAMPED (Single, Working, and Mothering- Participating in Evening Dinners).

A HOOT OWL can be more out of the blue when a member needs some camaraderie while the hubby's away, but a HOOT OWL can also plan for regular meetings if they so wish. We're more versatile because unlike most playgroups who only visit during the day we'd also would love to include weeknights- the bewitching hours ranging between 5 and 8pm. We can visit for dinner at our home's (host not expected to provide dinner but may coordinate with whomever's coming over) or at restaurant's . We're open to pretty much anything to help the time go by and we would love to feel connected in this fast paced world where parenting can become so isolating.
