HMBirds is mainly for reports of bird sightings and interesting bird behavior in the eleven counties surrounding Albany, NY. Unusual extralimital reports are also welcome.
HMBirds is open to everyone interested in birding in the Hudson-Mohawk Region -- also known as "Region 8" of the New York State Ornithological Association. HMBirds is sponsored by the Hudson-Mohawk Bird Club, but you do not have to be a member of the Club to join HMBirds. If you are not a member of the Club, please consider joining it, particularly if you live in the Hudson-Mohawk region. The Club welcomes members at all skill levels, and there are many benefits. Membership forms are available on the Club's website http://hmbc.net
Photos will be removed from emails. You are welcome to post them in the photo file section of HMBirds or include a url in your message.

Unless the camera angle is distorting things, I vote no for a Cackling Goose. The Goose appears to be nearly double the size of the Wigeon. Am. Wigeon 18-23"
