Description

For the discussion of all aspects of inland working boats in the British Isles. These include, but are not limited to, narrow boats, barges, tub boats, wherries etc but discussion should NOT include craft of a primarily coastal nature even if these habitually travelled inland.

This HIBW list was formerly the Historic Narrow Boat Public Discussion (HNBPD) list and was the public version of the Historic Narrow Boat Owners Club (HNBOC) private group list. However, due to negligible use of that list, its scope has now been widened.

(Nb. Any photograph or document posted may be copied by the HIWB webmaster and used for historic boat archive purposes (including HIWB web pages) unless specified to the contrary. They will, of course, be acknowledged where appropriate.)
