Hello ALL ,

There is one website www.kellysearch.com .
This is big database of the worldwide compnies.
In search box just give the "IT " or "Software".  It will give the big big list.
Then select any one of them . It will show one simple form (as an example http://www.kellysearch.com/us-company-900402888.html ) .
Just feel that form. When press "send"  it will directly sent that details to the company. Invite them to expand their bussiness in Gujarat, India..
Invite them also for Vibrant Gujarat and also we can put our own government's reference.

I hope it will help to our "Gujarat IT Movement".

Jignesh

The seminar also discussed how could Gujarat catch with Karnataka, Andhra
Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the Information Technology sector. From a policy
point of view, it was recommended that a software technology park be
established. The lack of institutions to impart IT education was also emphasised

Recent Articles from IndianExpress:-

=================================================
WHEN Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh cast
his vote at the Narmada review committee, he made a
clear statement on his priorities. By weighing in
against further work on the Narmada dam, he seemed
impervious to the implications for the power supply in
Maharashtra. At present, Maharashtra faces a shortfall
of 15 to 20 per cent of its electricity needs. This is
a key factor that’s pulled back Maharashtra’s growth
in the last decade. The Maharashtra State Development
Report released by the Planning Commission has warned
that considering the state of the power sector in
Maharashtra, it may not be possible to maintain
reasonable growth rates. The symptoms are already
visible. Last summer there were planned outages in
rural Maharashtra of up to nine hours a day. Mumbai
was threatened with the shutting down of neon lights,
airconditioners in offices and lifts in buildings.
The economic decline in Maharshtra began in 1995-96.
Its growth rate fell from 7.5 per cent between the
mid-1980s and mid1990s to 4.5 per cent from 1995-96 to
2003-04. When compared to its neighbour Gujarat, which
witnessed an earthquake, a drought and communal riots
during this period, this decline is even more
striking. Since the mid-nineties, per capita income in
Maharashtra has grown at 3 per cent, while in Gujarat
it has grown at 5 per cent. State domestic product in
Maharashtra has grown at 5 per cent, in Gujarat at 7
per cent. Industry in Maharashtra grew at 4 per cent,
in Gujarat at 7 per cent.

As the Maharashtra government fails to provide
adequate power and infrastructure, it is falling
behind on attracting investments. The biggest share of
investment in the country since 1991 has gone to
Gujarat (18 per cent, with 14 per cent to
Maharashtra). Currently, while projects worth Rs 1.1
lakh crore have been announced for Gujarat,
Maharashtra has only Rs 0.8 lakh crore worth of
projects coming to it. It is clearly time for Vilasrao
Deshmukh to change his priorities and focus on growth
in his state.

============================================

The world’s just become a smaller place for
entrepreneurs from Gujarat, who’re now looking at the
retail market overseas to make their presence felt
globally. They’re heading for ‘Celebrate Virginia’,
being touted as the biggest-mall-of-them-all in the
US. Ahmedabad-based Veer Plastics has already booked
10,000 square feet in this North America retail resort
for a showroom, while Morbi-based Italica Tiles
Private Limited is also buying up space. Several
Surat-based manufacturers of polyester fabric have
also evinced interest in buying showroom space here.
The approximate rate of property? Six hundred dollars
per square foot.

Hello Kumar Builders,

I have many friends working at companies located in your Cerebrun
(http://www.kumarbuilders.com/cerebrum/) IT Park who spoke great deals on
your contribution to Pune's Tech Park facilities.

Keeping that in mind I would like you to go thro the following award
winning Research done by Jones Lang LaSalle on India - The Next IT
Offshoring Locations which points out potential of Tier III cities.

http://www.research.joneslanglasalle.com/globalreports.asp?CountryID=4&LanguageI\
D=1

According to this report,Ahmedabad provides the highest cost advantage
amongst the subject Tier III cities and is therefore likely to attract
those occupiers that place a high weight on the cost factor.

With Gujarat Goverenment promoting IT in a big way, many prominent
builders are have started cashing in this opportunity.

It makes a good business sense to be the first to start Cerebrun kind of
IT Park complexes in Ahmedabad.

Thanks and Regards,
Prashant Tejura

Dear all,

I m thinking of writting below mail to a few prominent ppl in Govt of
Gujarat. Please send ur suggestions,modifications, + , - etc

=================================================

Respected all,

There is no doubt that it is because of your efforts and our CM’s dynamic
leadership, Gujarat is achieving growth at rocketing speed that has
become neighbor’s envy and every Gujarati’s pride!

However, I would like to convey on behalf of thousands of Software
Engineers like me who had to leave our motherland to earn wages in IT
companies located in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra who ultimately
benefit by earning huge revenues and foreign exchange for themselves by
providing opportunities to service class Gujaratis, which is big loss for
Gujarat!

We educated gujjus know have faith in you that you would match our
aspirations and make Gujarat famous not just for GujaratTI but also for
GujaratIT , a Knowledge Based Super Economic Power. After all, we have an
IT savvy officials like you who has already spearheaded award winning
e-governance initiatives.

Its understood that its tough to compete with established Tech Cities like
Bangalore (where software exports is a whopping Rs. 27,600 crore and 900
Tech Companies), Hyderabad (400+ IT companies exporting Rs 10,000 crore),
Pune (300+).

But it’s abysmally disheartening and panic situation when number of
Software majors are opening up in smaller and lesser competitive places
like Chandigarh, Vizag, etc. completely ignoring Gujarat which has the
finest Infrastructure, booming economy and churns out thousands of
Engineers every year.

The current IT boom is the right time to take few big leaps else we might
loose out to other Tier II and Tier III cities that are silently eating
away with our share. To your drive of making Gujarat as an attractive IT
Destination, following points can be considered:-

1) Our Gandhinagar IT Park offers facilities that are offered by average
IT Parks. To beat the competition we need a truly five star /
world-class SEZ or IT Park like

http://www.iccpune.org/ http://www.intltechpark.com/

Such a monument makes a good business sense as it can attract MNCs
(especially situated in costlier cities like Bangalore, Mumbai & Pune) to
open their office at our world class facility available at competitive
rates.

2) Aggressive marketing needs to be done in NASSCOM, BangaloreIT.com and
even organizing AhmedabadIT.com. Systematic approach like hiring a
professional PR agency that can frequently come out with buzzing articles
on Gujarat’s IT/ITES potential in Times, Business Today, Business India
etc is the need of the hour to get edge over competition

3) Its a good idea to leverage eminent Gujaratis who have direct contacts
with decision makers at various IT Companies. We can start with IIM-A
professors Mr.Bakul Dholakia & Mr Jajoo, Mr Sunil Mehta (VP of NASSCOM &
MBA IIM-Ahmedabad), Mr Ahank Desai (Chairman of Mastek & MBA IIM-Ahmedabad
batch 1979) and Mr. Ketan Mehta (Director of Mastek & MBA IIM-Ahmedabad
batch 1979) by making them our brand ambassadors. For e.g., Since Mr
Narayan Murthy, Mr Azim Premji etc visit IIM-A quite regularly they must
be sharing good rapport with Mr Bakul Dholakia and Mr Jajoo who can be
delegated with the responsibility of convincing Infosys, Wipro etc.

4) Your team can catch and make presentation to companies when they visit
for campus recruitment at IIM, Nirma, DA-IICT, MSU, LD, DDIT, Rollwala
etc. This presentation can talk about upgraded IT Policies, affordable and
better facilities at the Infocity etc.

5) Educational Institutes in Karnataka & Maharashtra produce thousands of
engineers every year. We too need to copy their mass production of
IT-savvy engineers to project Gujarat as viable option to the larger
players that typically invest where they can ramp up easily.

6) IT/ITES outsourcing to India by EURO Countries is on sharp increase and
is said to touch equals with that from the US in the next 3 years. We need
to proactively tap this phenomenon by setting up EU Foreign language
initiatives (like German, French etc) mainly for ITES.

The above are just a few thoughts which only you have the ability to give
proper shape and accelerated push. For your quest of enabling IT
excellence in Gujarat please let us know how we 5000+ Gujarati software
techies temporary relocated to Pune, can be of any help. We are well
connected with one another by being members of gujjuchaps@...
and local Pune groups like gujjuchaps_pune@yahoogroups.com just like
15,000+ Bangalore gujjus communicate via
gujjuchaps_bangalore@yahoogroups.com .

We have also created a special group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Gujarat_IT_Movement/ to keep informed about
IT happenings in Gujarat and invite you to participate.

Our dream is to relocate back to our motherland someday when Gujarat is
seen as the undisputed leader in IT/ITES as it is in other fields.

Thanks and Regards,

Gujarat Techies!

Mr Dilip,

As specified in my previous mail, I agree to the opinion that the
initiative is appreciable and if people continue to offer their
feedbacks, opinions, criticism, this can go a far way and the needful
can be achieved very soon.
Also, I whole heartedly agree to your point that says that people
will not mind moving to Gujarat if they are offered a work
environment that they have been longing for since quite a long time.
If this is achieved, nothing like it. We shall begin by creating
awareness and later try to contribute in whatever way it is required
for the success of this endeavour.

Regards,
Ashutosh

Prashant Tejura,

You have done quite a lot for the Gujarati IT professionals & an institution
called InfoCity, Gandhinagar. The initiative you & Virendra Jhala have taken
is outstanding & must bear sweet fruits of your efforts.

Keep us all informed of the outcome of Mr V P Singh's forth coming visit to Pune. We here understand from his Emails in the past that MBT Pune is a
serious contender for space in InfoCity @ GNR. Perhaps when IBM Global moves in to GNR things will hasten up !

As you know we are in the IT placement services business and we know quite a few senior level pros who have moved over to Pune but given the opportunity
in terms of a BRANDED IT outfit to work in Gujarat they are all ready to
RELOCATE here.  ALL SUCH PROS ARE WELCOME TO CONTACT US.

Good work please keep it up.

Hello Everyone,

This is a very good move by the group and I am supportive towards the
idea of creating awareness in every possible way through media
including the TV ads etc.
Development of IT is awaited in Gujarat since a pretty long time and it
is expected from the people to offer their valuable feedback towards
the cause.

Hi Mr Singh,

Currently I am employed with RAPIDIGM India Limited which is recently acquired by Fujitsu Consulting Limited.

Our Director Mr Jitendra Tanna is from Ahmedabad.

Fujitsu has very aggressive expansion plans for India.

His official email id is JTanna@...

Right now he is in US so you may not meet him but you can initiate the process.

Another Company about which I am very exciting is FTIL(Financial Technology India Limited) http://www.ftindia.com/companyinformation.htm

The key person is Mr. Jignesh Shah, Chairman & Managing Director

As per my knowledge it has many GUJJU employees.

Regards,

Greetings Mr. Singh,

Forgot to you give you my mobile number in previous mail. Its +91 988 100 99 45.

What will be your contact number in Pune?

Gujarat can gain substantial visibility if we can start participating in and marketing to NASSCOM which in turn markets Indian IT to entire World everyday as part of their job!

Thinking in that direction, I found a very big Gujju connection at NASSCOM.  He is VP of NASCCOM & MBA from IIM-Ahmedadad - Mr Sunil Mehta

Then, there are following two gujjus who are thirsty for growth:-

Mr Ahank Desai (Chairman of Mastek & MBA IIM-Ahmedabad batch 1979)

Mr. Ketan Mehta (Director of Mastek & MBA IIM-Ahmedabad batch 1979)

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Mr. Singh,

Couldn’t find any contacts in Tata Technologies,Pune till now. Still searching…

Gutam Thakkar , my friend who works with EMC Bangalore ( http://india.emc.com/ ) informed me that EMC is looking for expansion and has few notable customers in Gujarat like Reliance, Hutch, AT&T, Tata Indicom.

Hence, EMC (US 10 billion dollar company) can be a good candidate for making a presentation and he can help u in whichever way you want

His contact details:-

Cell : 9880153372, 9342530058

Email : thakkar_gautam@..., gautamcthakkar@...

Other potential candidate is Mastek. As we know, Ashank Desai, head of Mastek himself is a Gujarati and alumni of IIM-Ahmedabad.

Mastek is constantly on expansion drive, opened its third office in Pune some months back http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1277849.cms

One more US based company in Pune – Triple Point Technology, has a big customer in Gujarat http://www.tpt.com/news/index.asp?c=xml/pr1322006.xml

Thanks and Regards,

Prashant Tejura.

Hi,

Ofcourse.

Incase Mr. Singh requires some links in MBT he can use following gujju employees (although they are NOT at senior level) given by my friend Rutwig Bhatt.

Name:                           Contact No:                   Yahoo Id

1. Rajul Patel                 9226378308                   mrrajpatel

2. Utkarsh Joshi             9850601332                   josh_friend4u

Today I read in Times of India (Pune Edition) that Zensar doesn’t want to expand anymore in Pune and is now thinking of opening up an SEZ in next 2 yrs in one of the cities(kolkata,Chennai,Hyderabad & Indore)

I feel this is a panic situation for us when lesser competitive cites like Jaipur, Indore, Nagpur, Mangalore, Vizag etc are eating away our share.

Dear Mr. Tejura

Good work done

I appreciate your boldness and effort.

You have asked us to present our case to MBT, on that account I cannot share what has been done

and what remains, but surely we are ahead of you in this case.

With what you are doing and the kind of sharing which happens on such issues makes me feel that

this teamwork will definitely achieve it’s objectives.

You can consider me in your team and be bindas in writing as today .I am in Pune between 25th and

Subject: MBT Conversation specific to Gujarat

Hi all,

Today an HR from MBT called me to find out whether I m interested for an opening at MBT Pune.

I talked a bit and molded the conversion to open their office in Gujarat and highlighted about availability of IT employees, cheaper infrastructure and lower salary standards in Ahmedabad.

Mentioned that if MBT opens in Gujarat, it can easily attract hundreds of trained gujju IT employees working at smaller IT companies in A'bad region.

And many experienced gujjus working at Cybage, IBM, Persistent etc would also rush back to Gujarat.

He was aware of Rishabh Software, Baroda. I told him that biggies like TCS, PCS are already there and a few more are in pipeline. Gujarat is the next IT Destination you better grab the pie early.

He told me that they have recently opened a center in Chennai and Noida and are now considering opening in Chandigardh and Hyderabad.

But he said that if things are so good in Gujarat definitely he would recommend Gujarat for the next office location.

I've informed him to join gujjuchaps_pune yahoo group where he can post jobs and interested gujjus will apply.

He wrote the following mail after our telecon:-

=======================================================================================

Dear Prashant,

It's a pleasure talking to you over the phone.
