The Guatemala Adopt Sibling Registry is a database that adoptive families of Guatemalan born children can utilize when searching for their children's biological siblings who may also have been adopted. Generally, families who adopt from Guatemala are not told if their children have biological siblings who were also adopted.

ADOPTION MUST BE FINAL AND THE CHILD IN YOUR HOME.

MEMBERSHIP IS FREE AND REQUIRED

MEMBERSHIP: You must SUBMIT your child's birthmother information for entry into the database. RESPOND TO THE AUTOMATIC EMAIL SENT TO YOU AFTER YOU'VE SUBMITTED YOUR SUBSCRIPTION REQUEST before your request expires.

The search process:

1) Click on the "Database" link in the left column of the group's webpage. Select the table "Birthmother Initials (Everyone)"

2) If you find a possible match, note the Yahoo ID of the member.

a)Click on the "Members" link in the left column of the group's webpage. In the "Search" box at the top of the Members page, enter the Yahoo ID and search for the member's email-address-link.

b)Click on the member's email address link to send an email. The subject line should be "Guatemala Sibling Registry - possible match check". Use only a partial spelling of the names to match. Once you send an email, your complete email address will be available to the member so that s/he can reply to you. Once that member replies to you, his or her complete email address will be available to you.

c)If it is a definate match, email the moderator. It will be added to the table so as to offer hope to other members and to show that the registry has been helpful.

You cannot email the entire group. Each member's complete email address is never visible. However, with a visible Yahoo ID, membership is not private.
