The National Grigsby Preservation Foundation (NGPF) sponsors this genealogical discussion group, in coordination with the National Grigsby Family Society (NGFS). The NGPF is a non profit society founded for preservation of genealogical records and memorabilia. The NGFS is a genealogical society organized to investigate and preserve the ancestry and lineage of the Grigsby family for the benefit of its members and future Grigsby descendants. Also:

- To operate exclusively for charitable, educational, literary and benevolent proposes.

- To promote interest and study of the Grigsby history and ancestry.

- To collect and preserve this information and disseminate it to members of the Society.
