With expert help from arborist Michael Oxman, the Greater Greenwood Bi/Ped
Safety Coalition has put together a park the size of a standard parking
space in the heart of Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood today. It includes
a large bike rack, a table and chairs, and a good old fashioned soapbox.
If you have something to say or music to play, if you want to enjoy
unusually plentiful bike parking or just taking a seat for a few minutes
in sun or shade, come join members of the Greater Greenwood Bi/Ped Safety
Coalition, the Greenwood Community Council, and the North Seattle Boys and
Girls Club today in front of locally owned businesses on Greenwood Ave N
between N 84th and 85th Streets, in front of the Pig N' Whistle.
Come see one example of what can be done in a more sustainable future with
a space normally devoted to parking a single car!
We also expect to have a second Park(ing) Day space set up in front of the
Greenwood Library three blocks north this afternoon; please join us!
