EUREKA RALLY
March and Rally this Saturday 3rd December
Convenes at Civic Square (11AM next to Town Hall Ruthven Street)then
Marches East Creek Park For Speakers and Entertainment (12 am cnr
Kitchener & Margeret Street)
A number of community groups including the Catholic Social Justice
Commission, Political parties, Unions, Workers and Darling Downs
residents will soon stand united in their opposition to the extreme
industrial relations changes proposed by the Howard government.
Event coordinator and social justice advocate Pauline Gallagher
called on all political parties from the Greens, Queensland
Nationals, Labor, workers, community groups and individuals to
come together and voice their concerns for the proposed Industrial
Relations reforms and their impact on workers, their families and
community values on the anniversary of the Eureka.
A Rally and march is planned for Saturday 3rd, with speakers from
political parties, individuals and community groups, on Eureka Day,
Saturday 3rd December, to show their concern about the government's
new IR legislation.
A Eureka flag raising ceremony will be held at 11 am at the Civic
Square before setting off on a street march to East Creek Park,
corner of Kitchener and Margaret Streets for the speakers forum at
12.00 noon including music.
