NEXT MEETING: February 28th, 2013 9:30am-11ish Freeport Community Library, Freeport ME Not sure which room we'll be in this time, just ask for our group at the front desk This online group will serve as an announcement board for an actual group currently set to meet in Freeport, ME once a month.

The purpose of the group is to gather local families who have discovered the joys and benefits of wearing their children in any of a variety of soft cloth carriers (slings, soft front pack carriers, Asian-style carriers, wraparound carriers, backpack carriers, etc.) for the physical, emotional, and developmental benefits for both parents and child, as well as for convenience.

Meetings will include time to meet other babywearing families, try carriers from the growing sling library, share the joys of using your sling, and get help with any questions or issues of comfort/safety/versatility when wearing your children, and to see feel and possibly try on other members' carriers to see how they work for you.

We wish to pass on the love of babywearing and the skills necessary to make it practical.

Open to every type of family, foster care providers, childcare providers, healthcare professionals who work with babies and toddlers, etc. Anyone wishing to learn why and how to wear babies in slings and other soft carriers.
