folks -
We have a permitted hike in early October starting at North Kaibab and ending at
Nankoweap. We plan on the higher routes mentioned in write ups by Dave Marcus
and Sally Underwood, and using the saddle system through the Butte Fault area to
Nankoweap.
Most do this hike in reverse (Nanko-BA), but the corridor sites along the N.
Kaibab were all booked. Other than the obvious of being better to hike out N.
Kaibab vs Nanko at the end of a long hike, does anyone have thoughts
on disadvantages doing it this way? My only idea now is that possibly coming
from Nanko first it's better to go up (and down) the Redwall sections along the
traditional way.
With Cottonwood and BA camp full, we have our 1st two nites in Clear Creek use
area, which is a large area, but it will be a long 1st day to the start of CC
use, and we know dry. We know this and will deal with it by likley loading up
at BA creek.
Just curious if anyone is aware of any disadvantage doing it this way which
we've overlooked. We've reasearched it and don't see why it can't be done.
Hopeful someone can shed light on any unaccounted for logistics.
thanks,
-L. Antonelli
