I started this group as my own personal motivation to pursue an education in Grace Parenting. I am pursuing a parenting lifestyle that is free of spanking, punishment, manipulation. I desire to disciple my children toward adulthood and into a loving relationship with their Heavenly Father.
I want my parenting lifestyle to be full of respect, dignity, wisdom. It is not as simple as "taking a class" or "finishing a course". This is about daily loving, living and learning. It's a process. There will be no graduation, only growth.
I am grateful that I am not alone. God is taking this journey with me and it is His Spirit that guides, directs and instructs me. I am dependent upon Him for discernment.
I am grateful for those who have traveled before me. They have been obedient to the call to share their lessons learned. Their books, tapes and websites will be a map along the way. I am not seeking a destination but traveling along, filling up my toolbox with positive, gentle alternatives to the punitive mindset that I had for so long. I don't desire a permissive home, nor an authoritarian home, but a relational home.
For this reason, there are detours I will not take.
No Greater Joy Ministries and Growing Families International will not be endorsed here.
I am grateful for fellow travelers. I envision a virtual community of support here. We will learn and grow together. We will share one another's burdens. We will encourage, edify and exhort one another.
Grace permeates all aspects of our lives. As we pursue God's grace toward our children, we will find it for ourselves. We will be transformed into not only grace-filled parents, but grace-filled spouses, grace-filled friends, grace-filled family members. Understanding God's grace has the power to radically change many aspects of our lives.
So, pack up your bags and let's begin this Graceful Journey!
