Global Rhode Island is dedicated to helping Rhode Island develop as a state in which all its citizens recognize the importance of knowledge about the world beyond the borders of the United States, are given the tools and information necessary to make informed judgments about international issues, and have the capacity to take advantage of international opportunities.

By supporting international explorations in the classroom, providing teachers with professional development opportunities, and collaborating with school and Rhode Island Department of Education and Board of Regents administrators to internationalize K-20 education, Global Rhode Island supports Ocean State educators in their effort to build the international knowledge, skills, and dispositions of their students.
