Description

Discussion list for cyclists frequenting the Glenelg High School (14025 Burntswoods Rd) evening ride. People are free to ask questions, boast their latest riding accomplishments, warn of incidents of those mechanical monsters, praise advocates or whatever, as long as it's cycling related. The list does NOT allow.....

1. Flamers. Please do not flame people. If you have issues with what someone says, that's fine. But be constructive.
2. Bad language. Keep it clean, ages here can cover the gambit.
3. Commercial advertising. Selling of YOUR personal stuff is OK, but do not overdo or you may find yourself looking elsewhere.

In short, just be respectful. Since this list is open otherwise, expect mail.

If interested in attending the Glenelg evening rides, they begin after Daylight Savings time arrives. Ride start times vary as evening daylight gets longer.

Start of Daylight Savings through end of April: 5:45 PM
May through end of August: 6:00 PM
September: 5:45 PM
October till end of Daylight Savings: 5:30 PM

Note these are the roll out times so make sure to arrive prior. General class of riders ranges from 16 mph up to 21+. General break down of riding groups is:

"A" Group - 20+ mph - A somewhat hilly route totaling about 35 miles.
"B" Group 18-20 mph - A flatter route about 27 miles in length.
"C" Group 16-18 mph - Same route as the "B" group.

All routes have short cuts. For example: the revised BBC and Mod. Ridges and Bridges each can be cut to 23 miles.

Recommend newbies come out on Thursday evenings as the turn out is much smaller and more "social". Cue sheets are generally available and downloadable from this site however we recommend you make yourself known your first visit so we can pair you with a like wheel.
