Annette, I hope that you understand that it is perfectly normal and healthy
to question where you are supposed to be. Infact, I worry more about people
who dont question their position than people who do. Being that you have
doubts shows that you are very mature; you think things through and
calculate your circumstances. Only you know if Wicca is right for you. No
one else can tell you. It is something you have to look deep into your soul
to find out. Personally, I had doubts for a long time when I first started
out (I was 12). But now I know that Wicca is right for me, and I got that
answer after a lot of searching. If you want, you can talk to me off-line.
Ive made a lot of mistakes on my path, so Im sure I can help you through! My
address is ivy_wolfmoon@.... Blessed Be!

Love Ivy

Annette: The world is a very confusing place. I have found that you have to
follow your heart. I did not get involved with wicca until well after high
school. I started 1994 and it has been 9 years and I am still learning. I
think that your feelings are mixed. What I can suggest is meditate on these
feelings and give it time, the answer will come. Bright Blessings young one.

yes, Lady, Life can be very confusing...but answers do
come...sometimes in ways which we didn't expect.

On a side note - does anyone know why the posts to the group have stopped
coming with the subject modifier?

I thought this was emailed to me and I was upset and confused since I am a
contributor here but then I saw it was in relation to a new items post from
someone else (*phew*) and was relieved but it was still jarring...

Here are a few cute oils that you might enjoy creating. Please remember if
you pass them on to leave all info and the copyright info in tact.

~Wealth Attraction Oil~

* a 1 dram glass vial
* Jojoba Oil - a thick base oil that is long lasting
* 1 bay leaf, crumbled
* 2 drops ginger essential oil
* 4 drops Oakmoss essential oil
* 3 drops Patchouli essential oil
* 5 drops Lemon essential oil

First, place all the drops of essential oil into the vial. Then carefully
add your crumbled bay leaf. Once done, add the jojoba oil and leave for a
full lunar cycle (best made at the Full Moon). To use - anoint a candle,
yourself or a wealth attraction charm with this oil. It will last longer
than others and is suited as a personal scent. For a more subtle scent,
use aromatherapy scent pads in an aromatherapy necklace which allow slow
and gentle diffusion of a scent

Test before using. To test, place a small amount of oil on your inner
elbow for a night. If you have a reaction, do not use anywhere on your
body. Do not use on sensitive or intimate areas. Do not ingest or add to
food.

This recipe is copyright Judith Lewis of http://www.NewMoonOccultShop.com
and may be passed on for use only if the entire recipe is kept intact with
no additions and this copyright notice is left complete and attached.

~Love Attraction Oil~

* a 2 dram glass vial
* Grapeseed Oil - to match Narcissus dilute
* 1 whole red rose bud
* 1 drop ginger essential oil
* 3 drops Jasmine essential oil
* 10 drops Narcissus essential oil in 5% dilution in grapeseed oil
* 3 drops Rose Maroc essential oil

First, place the rose bud in the vial. If you have trouble, use some red
rose petals. Then add the narcissus oil first, then the other oils and
lastly, grapeseed to the top. To use - anoint a candle, yourself or a love
attraction charm with this oil. For a more subtle scent used on your
person, use aromatherapy scent pads in an aromatherapy necklace which allow
slow and gentle diffusion of a scent.

Test before using!! Narcissus can cause bad reactions in some people. To
test, place a small amount of oil on your inner elbow for a night. If you
have a reaction, do not use anywhere on your body. Do not use on sensitive
or intimate areas. Do not ingest or add to food.

Add power to your magical workings with this incense created specifically
with increasing magical intent and power in mind. Can also be used as an
offering in the forest as the resins are natural however be careful to not
leave too much as too much of anything is harmful.

~Power Incense~

9g frankincense
7g myrrh
13g dragons blood
3g gum mastic
11g dammar
5g sandarac

All ingredients are resins. While this combines best for burning when
reduced to powder in a mortar and pestle, it is quite difficult to reduce
frankincense to powder I find. This does smell best however when burned as
a well-blended powder and must be burned on charcoal. It is a bit
deceptive and does create a great deal of smoke if you use too much on
charcoal so use sparingly. Dammar, gum mastic and sandarac lend a more
pineish smell to the blend so if you cannot find them, other pine resins
can be used or chop up pine needles and add until the blend smells right to
you.

and may be passed on for use only if the entire recipe is kept intact with
no additions and this copyright notice is left complete and attached.

I've had these kicking around for ages - hope they are a help to someone!!!
The prosperity ritual is especially good because it tells you what each
part is and how to do it...

From: Chandralin@a...

A Quicky Money Spell

This spell requires good visuilization. Take a green candle and anoint it
with cinnamon oil. Take the bill or write on a piece of paper the amount of a
bill you owe and who it is to. You will need a candle that can burn for 7
days. Place the paper under the candle. Hold your hands over the candle and
say something like :

"This candle burns to light the way for the money I need to pay this bill in
a way that harms no one."

Light the candle and burn patchouli incense. Meditate for about 5 minutes as
the candle burns. Visualize yourself writing the check or purchasing the
money order for this bill and putting it in the mail. Burn the candle
everyday around the same time for 7 days and 15 minutes at a time. Also, burn
patchouli incense everyday too with the candle. On the last day, burn the
paper with the flame from the candle and let the candle burn completely out.
********************************************************
    Prosperity Ritual
Within four days after this ritual, my husband and I received a total
of $400 from various unexpected sources!

    Tools:
poppet made out of green cloth, leave the head open
chamomile for money, rosemary for luck, basil for success
    needle and thread
Directional elementals (earth, incense for air, fire, water)

    Altar Devotion
    Casting the Circle
As you walk deosil around the circle three times, imagine a green,
soothing mist trailing from your fingers, enveloping you and enclosing
    your magick circle.
    "I conjure the magick circle
I am safe within the Goddess' womb
A sacred place, a world apart
Where enchantment births and magick starts
With Air and Fire, Water and Earth
I circle round the Mother's girth
    This circle is sealed"

    Drawing Down the Moon
Stand holding your athame, legs slightly apart, arms at your side.
    Breathe deeply.
Raise the athame to your lips, holding it with both hands, and then
point it toward the moon. Feel the energy of the moon move through the
athame, down your arms and into your whole being.

    Invocation to the Goddess
    "Wondrous Lady of the Moon
Mistress of all magick and protectress of all Wicca
    Life-giving mother
I greet you at the waxing of the moon's power
I invite you to attend my Full Moon rite"

    Invocation to the God
    "Radiant King of the Heavens
Master of beasts wild and free
    Horned stag
I greet you at the waxing of the moon's power
I invite you to attend my Full Moon rite"

Meditation and Chant to the Goddess
Sit with your spine straight, legs crossed, hands in your lap. Close
your eyes and visualize the Goddess, however she appears to you. Feel
her arms around you in a protective embrace. When you have the vision
    firmly planted, begin chanting softly.
    "Starry Goddess, Full of Light
I honor you this Full Moon Night"
Repeat, feeling your energy grow. This energy will be used during the
    following spellworking.

    Spellworking
Cleanse and consecrate poppet for workings of magick.
    Stuff it with the herbs
    Sew the opening closed.
    "Goddess of Opportunity
Bring good things in life to me
I'll be alert to all you send
    Goddess be my helpful friend"
Repeat 3 times, envisioning the opportunities you wish to come to you.

    Reverse Lunar Draw
Raise the athame to the moon, then bring it to your lips and back down
to your side, releasing the energy you built during the Drawing.

    Thank the Goddess and God

    Release the Circle
Walk back around the circle, pulling the mist back into your hands.
Place the poppet in your closet, your car, your handbag or somewhere
else close to you. You can re-work this spell at the next full moon if
    you feel it's necessary.

From my site as posted to the spells list

http://newmoon.uk.com/spells/46.htm

I have the answers to your questions, at least it is the way that I perform
the things that you are looking for.
To anoint candles, take a speficic oil ( one that coresponds to your
desire...ie:money oil for money spells...and rub from the top to the
middle, then from the bottom to the middle, in that exact way, all the time
thinking about your desire. Before you do this, you may want to inscribe
the candle itself with the speficic purpose that it will be used for. You
can do this by either using your language that you use in every day use, or
get a hold of a book that describes different witch languages that were
used way back when. It seems to give the spells an added umph!!.

To open a circle, find out first which direction is north, south, east, and
west. Place a candle that cooresponds to the direction at each corner. Then
using a broom, sweep outwards casting out all impurities around the desired
space. After completing this, light each candle with saying an invocation
to the direction( for an example: "I call to the watchtower of the North,
and as that you watch over our circle, join in our festivities, and guard
against us from all evil that might want to enter." ) You can even include
the direction's element, and color if you want to . After saying this, take
your athame(sword or blade) and draw a pentacle, invision it to be a
glowing blue or white light over the spot where the candle is placed.
Proceed to do this to all four corners, starting with the north, and ending
with the south. Once done, say, this circle is now complete, thanking all
directions and again asking for them to join in and partake in the
festivities.
MAKE SURE THAT ONCE YOU ARE FINISHED YOUR CIRCLE, YOU SWEEP INWARDS, AND AS
EXTINGUISHING YOUR CANDLES, THANK EACH ONE OF THE DIRECTIONS, AND
PERMITTING IT TO LEAVE. if you do not, you leave the circle open for
whatever may want to wander in. DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP!!!!!
Once your circle is open, then light candles to honor and call the God and
Goddess, and any other deities that you may wish to join you. Again, do not
forget to thank them and allow them to leave your circle when you are
finished. As with the candle colors, there are countless meanings on the
colors. Go to your local bookstore, and find a book on candle or even color
magic. There are a few good ones out there. Let me know how your doings went!!
Blessed Be!!

first let me begin from the end and work backwards candles are anointed
"blessed"by first touching a small amount of oil "kind depending on spell
you wish to effect" holding your taper in your hands and placing the
impresion "through visualization and concentration" as you resite you
"spell" you rub from the middlr of your taper towards the top once begun
you must only massage in the same direction as you rub the taper . after
you have "burned "your spell into the upper half you rverse the process
with the lower half of the candle againn rubbing in only the direction from
middle owtward the same as with the top

now as for colors there are actually many schools of thought on this in my
mind the color of a taper matters much less than the amount of working that
has been infused into the candle itself. but there are many list of
specific traditions favoured color for a certain porpuse on the net . in
fact all of these questions can be answered in a very few minurunning a
search under "wicca spells candle" but its to me more of a common sense to
me something in the order of red for things like passion white and silveer
fot the goddess etc.etc. but there are lsts of specific uses for easch
coler and oil on some great pages like grandmother spiders spiderweb and
witches voice

now to invoke a circle you can also find this information and most anyting
you seek to understan the web with a simple search but the circles takes
some power of vizualization you would waol the circl clockwise three times
whali vizualizing the power flowing from your hands in a green or blue
mistt of power flowing from you as you walk the circleyou then visualize
that formation of power growing up around your circle until it meeets at
the top the close it at the bottom to create a sphere of your own power and
power borowed from the goddess in calling the dieaties its a very personal
thing for you do not "call " or "order" a god or goddess you invite or
request thier presence and aid in your working after th ritual again you
should thank and perhaps leave an offering or sacrifice such as loave cake
or ale or wine something to thank then for the help that they have
lebtagain you can finda more precise writ on the web . there are many many
great rescources out there as well as books my best dugestion to you would
be to sek out such postings and books and study its much better to learn
these things in a more prsonal manner than to just send a posting to gain
from others working whitch is its just much more enlightening than to just
have someone else send you a few half answers to what you seek.

It's pretty jarring to me to be on what I consider a pagan/occult email list for
an author who's work I have a certain amount of respect for and find myself
getting advertisements from shops who apparently use the list for little else.
I don't mind the events listings, and I think you posted things from your
grimoire, but the person I was responding to in the original message has done
naught but advertise her online shop. I find that offensive. I delete, delete,
delete and I will never shop there. Now if there was not more done than added a
link to her shop in her signature that was on all her appropriate to the list
posts ... that would have seemed less opportunistic and I actually would have
checked the place out. blessings and peace, and sorry for the jarring ...

No worries. I was quite upset as if I post my newsletter anywhere, I've
gotten permission first. It's big too, so it's important to have
permission! It has spells, rituals, and more than just blatant plugs for
my new stuff *grins*

But I've never sought permission to post it here as this is a small quiet
group and we all just trundle along happily.

Say - is anyone here on the Atkins diet? I WANT ICE CREAM SO BADLY RIGHT
NOW I'M GONNA BURST! *gasps* This had better pass soon!

Anyway, couple of spells on the waaaaayyyyyyy!

Another from the AWBOS list - let's all get posting YAY!

Travel Protection Spell

Equipment
A piece of malachite, or malachite jewlery, and a map showing the
route to your destination.

The Spell
Invoke Mercury and Iris and ask Them to guard you as you go. Sing or
breathe to raise power, and charge the malachite. Then trace it along
the route on the map, visualizing yourself traveling in comfort and
safety; if you intend to stop along the way, pause there when the
stone reaches that spot on the map. Otherwise, move it in a smooth,
uninterrupted line. Carry the stone with you when you go, or place it
in the vehicle. And as you travel, visualize a huge pentagram of
white light, encircled, surrounding the car, plane, train or ship in
which you travel

I've been doing low carb for awhile now. One little slip down that slippery
slope though and the cravings are wicked! Just hang in there, it will get much
better. blessings and peace, indigo¤warrior

I didn't slip - I've been good - honest!

I'm on day 3. My tummy feels like I'm feeding it lead and I wish I could
eat more veggies. I've been good and am weighing everything and sticking
rigidly to induction - careful about the type of mean, measuring cheese and
veggies, 2L of water (found Welsh Wales water in 2L bottles which was cool).

I don't want to be on this diet too long and am also excercising but when
my thyroid was dying, I gained a lot so I just want to shift that to get
back to my stable weight.

Maybe that extreme a version of low carb isn't for you. You might want to look
into Dr Schwarzbein's books. Since you've had thyroid problems you might be
interested in her theories as they deal with metabolic healing and various
complications that poor lifestyle can cause with the glandular/endocine system.
Her program really emphasizes balance and a life long commitment to good health.
And not to gross anyone out, but sometimes cheese doesn't agree with everyone
and might be causing that feeling of heaviness in your tum. blessings and peace,

Mother's Day celebrations date back at least as far
as ancient Greece, where worshipers observed a spring
day in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the gods. In 17th
century England, Christians celebrated "Mothering Sunday,"
the fourth Sunday in Lent, to honor the Virgin Mary and
other faithful Moms.

In the United States, Julia Ward Howe suggested the idea
of Mother's Day in 1872. Howe envisioned the holiday as
being dedicated to world peace.

The first Mother's Day celebrations in the USA took place
in West Virginia in 1908, at the urging of Ana Jarvis. Ana's
own mother had passed away several years earlier, and it
had been her dream to reunite families divided by the Civil
War with a day dedicated to Mothers. The idea quickly caught
on, and in 1914 Woodrow Wilson declared the second
Sunday of May to be the official Mother's Day.

Good idea!

My thyroid trouble is autoimmune unfortunately but I'm hoping to get a
group of witches over here in the UK do a healing once I've dropped a bit
more weight, detoxed a bit more and got into more excercise.
