Center Kids & Queer Songbook Present: I Hate Music--the Songs and
Music of Glen Roven
Thursday, May 25, 7PM
Bring your family and friends to hear THE RUNAWAY BUNNY based on the
children's classic, featuring award winning classical violinist Ittai
Shapira with Broadway and television star Sandy Duncan narrating.
In celebration of one of music and theater's emerging talents, Glen
Roven, enjoy The Runaway Bunny as well as songs from his upcoming
Broadway musicals, Dr. Seuss's The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T., and
Pandora's Box. Special guest performers include Broadway stars Donna
McKechnie (Tony Award winner for Cassie in the original production of
A Chorus Line), Douglas Sills (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Little Shop of
Horrors), Kaitlin Hopkins (Noises Off, Bat Boy – the Musical), Sal
Viviano (Falsettos), Noah Galvin and acclaimed classical violinist
Ittai Shapira and "The I Hate Music" choir of young Broadway
performers.
Glen has composed songs for Broadway and off-Broadway productions and
has written, conducted and/or produced for such luminaries as Placido
Domingo, Kathleen Battle, Julie Andrews, Aretha Franklin, Quincy
Jones, Kermit the Frog, Patti LaBelle, Liza Minnelli, and Frank
Sinatra to name a few. Glen also has the distinction of having been
the youngest conductor of a Broadway show, having conducted the
musical Sugar Babies at age 19.
