Gay men have always been represented in the horticulture field, but because of the conservatism prevalent in professional horticulture circles, have rarely been "out" or visible. This group exists to provide networking, support, inspiration, and information for gay men everywhere — "out" or not — who labor professionally in the field of horticulture: including estate gardeners, crop farmers, garden designers, landscapers, arboretum workers, garden writers, garden photographers, botanists, plant breeders, agronomists, garden historians, garden restorers, viniculturalists, and others who earn their livings — or part of their livings — from working with or around plants. I'm hoping that, in time, our membership will grow to the point where we can form an International Association of Gay Men In Horticulture. This is a moderated group; spam, flames, racism, and verbal violence will not be accepted here. Let's reach out to one another, guys!
