What is the Helping and Warming Program?
Founded in July 1999, Goddess Moon Circles has, first and foremost, been a service-oriented Church. Since the Fall of 2000, we have been sponsoring a program that calls for handmade hats, mittens and scarves for the winter months and blankets, canned goods, staple (non-perishable) foods and plush toys year round. These items are distributed at no cost to those people who need them. We do not require a statement of faith, or church attendance in order to receive aid from Goddess Moon Circles.
These items are taken by our clergy, students and volunteer leaders to shelters across the United States. Blankets and toys are also taken to crisis situations in which our clergy are called to assist.
Imagine a can of food you have contributed helping to fill a hungry person's stomach; a blanket that you have made with your hands and intent warming a homeless person.
How about a handmade toy of your own creation comforting a child tangled in the disarray of an emergency crisis?
Are you interested in forming a local Chapter? Let us know!
Your generous donations make these situations possible! Whether it's a donation of your time, a tangible item, or funding, your kindness helps us help others.
Financial donations of any size are gratefully accepted via the PayPal link at our site, www.GoddessMoon.org, and are used toward shipping of donations, the purchase of staple food items, blankets, etc.
We do not and will not distribute money, only goods and services. In RARE circumstances, we might be able to help with a utility bill, with direct payment to the utility, itself. If you are looking for a program that might be able to help you financially, we suggest going to www.modestneeds.org and submitting a request to them.
Goddess Moon Circles is registered as a 501(c)3 with the United States' Internal Revenue Service.
