Description

This list is a discussion of the genealogy of Nicholas (The Immigrant) Gentry ancestors and descendants. The intent of the moderator is to provide a Gentry tree with as much accuracy as is possible. The posted data is subject to change as relevant facts are posted to the list. All those interested in the Gentry descendants of Nicholas the Immigrant are invited to join.

The sources of information include but are not limited to: "The Gentry Family in America 1676 to 1909" by Richard Gentry and The contents of the "Gentry Family Gazette and Genealogy Exchange" published by Richard H. Gentry and data and essays available at http://www.gentryjournal.org Willard M.(Bill)Gentry owner. Where the information has been substantiated by primary source data and the application of good sound logic.

The motto of this group should be "Just because it is printed or posted on the internet does not make it fact. Computer data is only valid if the source data is valid."

All submissions to correct the list data need to be corroborated with primary or secondary source references. (i.e. Census, Tax Records, Marriage Records, Parish, Church documents, Family Bibles and others) Citations of the records are sufficient if the original record can be viewed via the internet otherwise copies are greatly appreciated.
