Description

The Green Country Outdoor Club is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It participates in outdoor activities in order to enjoy and preserve the natural treasures that have been endowed to our nation. These activities include hiking, bicycling, backpacking, canoing and trail maintenance. There are no dues and few rules. Everyone is invited to join and participate.
Our activities are based on the common adventure concept - meaning that all participants contribute in the cost, preparation and responsibilities of the trip. The responsibilities and expenses of the trip are shared among all participants. No trip or club expenses go to pay anyone's salary. Any instruction or advice provided by any member of the group is given gratuitously in the spirit of cooperation. There are no paid guides.
Members of common adventure groups do not hold one another or others liable for accidents. Please understand that when you participate in activities in the wild outdoors, you are risking your physical being. No one on the trip can assure your safety. Participate at your own risk. GCOC does not meet during summer months - June - July - August 2012.

OUR NEXT MEETING will be April 12th 2012, Thursday @ 7:00 p.m. Tulsa-County Hardesty Library - 93rd and Memorial.

Two of our own Bob and Betty Dupree will be showing a digital presentation on their many trips to our national parks. Ever since Ken Burns' series on National Parks of PBS a few years ago, Bob and Betty we have been inspired to visit as many of them as possible. As a result, we have visited dozens of National Parks and other scenic locations. We will show some select photos from many of them and share our personal experiences while visiting them.

Buffalo Lodge Weekend >>> Capacity may still available for the Buffalo Lodge trip (April 27th, 28th and 29th, 2012) Contact: Pres. Brian Stephens (acrna@hotmail.com) for questions and availability.

Please note: This is the last meeting GCOC meeting at the library until Sept 2012
